Welcome to My World of Words: A Journey Through Emotions and Expressions

Hello! I’m Kanika Kaushal, and I’ve always believed that words have a magical ability to express the depth of our emotions. I started this blog as a quiet place for my thoughts, a sanctuary where I could pour out my innermost feelings. Over the years, it has grown into more than just a personal outlet—it’s become a space where I explore life, love, and all the complex emotions that come with being human.

A Little About Me

I was born and raised in India, a place known for its vibrant culture and rich traditions. I did my schooling at Carmel Convent and later pursued B.Tech in Computer Science from NIT, Bhopal. You might wonder how a technical background blends with poetry—it’s because my love for words existed long before I started coding. For over a decade, I’ve been writing poems that reflect who I am, where I come from, and how I see the world.

Poetry, for me, isn’t just about pretty words. It’s an emotional journey. Every poem I write reflects a part of my soul, whether it's about the highs and lows of love, the quiet strength found in friendships, or the reflective moments that follow loss. I write to feel, to understand, and sometimes to heal.

Why Cruising Alone?

I chose the name Cruising Alone for this blog because that’s often how I feel in life: navigating the currents of emotions, sometimes lost, sometimes found, but always moving. While I may seem extroverted, there’s a quieter part of me that prefers to retreat into my thoughts, crafting poems from fleeting moments and unspoken feelings. And now, after years of anonymous writing, I’ve grown more confident in sharing these thoughts with the world.

My poetry started as an outlet for vulnerability, a safe space to explore the innermost corners of my mind without judgment. But over time, I realized that my experiences aren’t mine alone—many of you may feel the same things I write about. Whether it’s the pain of loss or the joy of love, these universal emotions tie us together. I hope my words can resonate with your own journey, perhaps even provide solace when you need it most.

What You’ll Find Here

On this blog, you’ll find a variety of poems, each with its own story to tell. Some are deeply personal, while others explore universal themes like resilience, self-discovery, and empowerment. I also write about love in all its forms—from the romantic kind we dream about to the love that challenges and teaches us.

Additionally, my poetry touches upon complex themes, often drawing inspiration from my personal experiences, spiritual beliefs, and observations about the world around me. Sometimes, I even delve into topics related to culture and history, using metaphors and symbolism to bridge the gap between the past and present.

My Writing Style

If you enjoy poems that make you pause and reflect, you’re in the right place. My style often takes the form of elegy, rich with emotion, self-reflection, and a touch of melancholy. But don’t get me wrong—I don’t shy away from hope. Many of my poems are about finding light after darkness, about embracing our inner strength and rising above life’s challenges.

I aim for simplicity in my language while making sure each line carries weight. I use metaphors drawn from nature, history, and everyday life to make my poems relatable yet layered with meaning.

What I Aim to Achieve

Through this blog, I want to create a space where emotions are honored, where vulnerability is celebrated, and where readers can find pieces of themselves within my words. Poetry is more than just a form of writing—it’s a mirror, reflecting our souls, our fears, our dreams. And as I continue on my journey of self-expression, I hope to inspire others to embrace their own emotions and stories.

For me, writing isn’t about showing off how much I know or impressing people with complex words. It’s about connecting. I want my readers to feel like they’re having a conversation with a close friend—someone who understands, someone who’s been there. So whether you’re here to enjoy a few lines of poetry or dive deep into emotional reflection, I hope you’ll feel welcome.

Join Me on This Journey

If you’ve ever found yourself reflecting on life’s big questions, wondering about love, loss, or what it means to truly know oneself, I think you’ll enjoy being part of this journey. Each poem I write is a step in understanding my own path, and I hope it inspires you to reflect on your own.

So, let’s take this journey together—through words, through feelings, through the ups and downs of life. Thank you for visiting Cruising Alone. I can’t wait to share my poems with you and hear your thoughts.

With love and light,
Kanika Kaushal

Amazon Worker

Hey there Amazon Worker, Do you think you pulled one over? Mocked my vulnerable side, only to protect your fake pride. I can’t fathom why I ever asked you to pamper and protect. Your wealth was never my concern, yet you watched my trust burn. As I began to share how I felt, you made a snide remark, hitting below the belt. Do you think I care if people change the way they stare? I’m no longer trying to hide; the girl you knew has long died. It’s amusing now that you said I remind you of your mother— What kind of devil hurts the daughter of another? Everyone says to forgive and forget since you were only a child. I would if you didn’t parade your weak masculinity, born of Rothschild. Your false grandeur can’t erase the damage done, I’ve found my strength and my journey’s just begun. If you thought you were good for my image, Know this: my growth surpasses your limits. I’m a woman whose name you can’t tear from the page, And I will stand tall, owning my own stage. ~ Kanika Kau...

Not So Bhavya

Oh, drop the good guy act, You pretended to care, that's a fact. Someone who was hiding their own shame, Called me psycho and crazy, how lame. You tried to charm me with your coffer, Brushed off my pain, saying, “Stop it, or else I won’t buy a lightsaber.” You took all you could and then asked what I have to offer? Funny how you wanted to burn it all down when you lost your maker, But when I cried and screamed, called me a big faker. You claimed to know love, but never took the time, To understand my heart, my rhythm, my rhyme. You wrapped me in darkness while claiming the light, But all you offered was a hollow delight. Now your shadows fade, and I choose to ignite, I’ll weave my own stories, reclaiming my flight.
