In the shadows where I once lay,
They looted my innocence, and night turned to day.
Like India, once rich, a golden bird,
I wore my heart like a shield, undeterred.
They played their games, took what they could,
While I shrank and withered, misunderstood.
A heart full of kindness, a spirit so bright,
Yet blind to the deceit that danced in plain sight.
You might call me naive, my idealism a flaw,
But each tear that fell forged my inner law.
For even a coal, through pressure and strife,
Can transform into diamonds that sparkle with life.
Now I rise, like a phoenix in flight,
No longer a victim, I embrace my own light.
I’ll lift those who falter, guide them with care,
Be the voice for the voiceless, I’ll always be there.
So break me, fold me, leave me for dead,
But know that I’m rising, my spirit’s not fled.
In origami’s folds, a beauty unfolds,
A masterpiece crafted, a story retold.
